What’s Included

Every Full Rep retainer

Five things already in the fee.

The professional fee you see on our schedule is the fee you pay. No $150 GCMS pull add-on, no $200 post-landing consultation extra, no separate “monitoring” subscription, no financing fees on installment plans. Five items that competitors regularly bill on top, or that we just don’t want to make you pay for separately, are bundled into every Full Representation retainer at Unitia.

The five items, in detail

What each one means in practice.

Each item below is something a typical Toronto immigration firm either charges separately for, prices opaquely, or simply doesn’t offer. We’ve made them standard on every Full Rep retainer.

01

GCMS notes pull when your file has refusal history

If you’ve had any prior IRCC refusal, on this application or any earlier one, we file the ATIP request to retrieve the officer’s case notes as part of your intake. Standard market rate for a standalone GCMS pull is around $150 and that’s what we charge clients who only want the notes. As part of a Full Rep retainer it’s included.

Why it matters: refusal letters are written in template language. The actual reasoning lives in the GCMS notes. You can’t fix what you can’t see.

02

One free resubmission if refused on preventable grounds

If your application is refused on a ground we should have caught or addressed, missing documentation, weak SOP, financial picture not adequately built, we resubmit the file at no professional fee. You pay only the IRCC government fee on the new submission. This does not cover refusals from client misrepresentation, late-disclosed inadmissibility, or external factors outside our control.

Why it matters: this aligns our incentives with yours. We aren’t paid twice when we get the first submission wrong.

03

Two-payment installment plan, no financing fees

Standard on every retainer over $2,000. 50% to start the file, 50% on submission. No interest, no convenience fees, no third-party financing setup. Some competitors charge a “payment plan administration fee” of $50–$200 for the same arrangement. We don’t.

Why it matters: a $3,700 spousal sponsorship retainer is real money. Paying it in two installments shouldn’t cost extra.

04

Direct WhatsApp access to the RCIC on your file

You get the personal mobile / WhatsApp number of the consultant handling your file. Not a shared “customer service” line, not an offshore call centre, not a junior. 48-hour response time guaranteed for business-day messages. Personal messages outside business hours get the response we’d give any friend, sometimes immediate, sometimes the next morning.

Why it matters: at most firms above a certain size, the named consultant becomes unreachable within weeks of signing. We don’t scale beyond what direct access allows.

05

Post-landing consultation for PR clients

One free 30-minute follow-up consultation within 90 days of your PR landing date. Use it for questions about: Social Insurance Number setup, health card application, banking, mortgage documentation for a new immigrant, family-class follow-on sponsorships, citizenship eligibility timing, or anything else immigration-adjacent. Standalone rate for this would be $135. Included for PR retainer clients.

Why it matters: landing as a PR triggers fifteen administrative actions you’ve never had to think about. Having one trusted call to navigate them is genuinely valuable.

Why we bundle it this way

Pricing transparency is a one-way street.

Once you publish all fees, you can’t walk that back. So the only way to compete on price honestly is to either (a) lower the headline fee, or (b) bundle more value into the same fee. We’ve done both: Founders’ Pricing on Study Permit and Visitor Visa is approach (a). The value stack is approach (b) for everything else.

The economics work because most of these items are ones we’d be delivering anyway, we monitor files in any case, we respond to messages, we don’t need to charge for an installment plan that costs us nothing. Making them explicit and listed changes how clients perceive what they’re getting, without meaningfully changing what we do.

The two items that have real cost to us are the free resubmission and the 30-day post-landing consult. Those are conscious decisions to align our incentives with yours.

What’s not bundled

Honest about what costs extra.

Some things genuinely cost more to deliver and we charge separately. Listed up front so you know.

A / Family

Additional applicants

Spouse on a PR file: +$1,000. Dependent child: +$500. Spouse on a TR file: +$750. Each additional person is real additional work, new forms, new documents, new biometrics, so we charge accordingly. Family bundles are still cheaper than retaining us separately per person.

B / Government

IRCC fees, biometrics, ECA, language tests

Paid directly to IRCC, Service Canada, or third parties. Listed in detail on our fees page. We can’t bundle these because the money goes to the government, not us. We do include them in your written budget at intake.

C / Complexity

Senior consultant rate for unusual files

Some files genuinely require a senior consultant’s time at our hourly rate of $350/hour: multi-inadmissibility files, prior misrepresentation, custody complications, files with parallel criminal matters. We quote this in writing before any senior work begins. Standard retainers don’t touch this rate.

D / After PR

Citizenship applications

Citizenship is a separate application years after PR landing. We’ve priced it competitively ($1,500 Full Rep) but it’s a separate engagement, not an extension of your PR retainer. We’ll remind you when you’re eligible.
