C / eTA

Electronic Travel Authorization

Required for visa-exempt foreign nationals flying to Canada. Mostly straightforward, but applications get refused on prior immigration history or declared inadmissibility. We handle the complicated ones.

$500

When complicated. Most eTAs you can do yourself.

What officers actually look at

Four questions every visitor visa officer asks.

If your application doesn’t answer all four convincingly, it’s refused. Most of our work goes into these.

01

What’s the actual purpose of your visit?

Visiting family for a wedding, attending a graduation, business meeting, tourism, medical treatment, the specific reason needs supporting evidence. A wedding invitation. A graduation announcement. A conference registration. Generic “visit my brother” gets refused; “attend my sister’s wedding on March 14, 2026 in Mississauga, with these guests, here’s the venue” gets approved.

02

Why will you leave Canada when your visit ends?

The hardest question, especially for applicants from high-refusal countries. We build a documented ties package: employment in your home country, family obligations, property ownership, prior international travel showing you’ve returned, and a clear return ticket.

03

How are you funding the visit?

Bank statements showing sufficient funds for the duration, traceable income, and either your own funds or a properly documented invitation letter with the host’s proof of income. If you’re being hosted in Canada, the host’s documents matter as much as yours.

04

What’s your complete history?

Every prior travel entry, every prior Canadian visa application (approved or refused), every refusal from any country, every visa overstay anywhere, disclosed fully. Officers can see what you don’t disclose, and undisclosed history triggers misrepresentation findings.

Specialty: Super Visa

Bringing parents to Canada the right way.

The Super Visa is one of the most underutilized pathways for Bangladeshi and South Asian families. While the PGP (Parent and Grandparent Program) for PR has long wait times and lottery selection, a Super Visa lets your parents stay in Canada up to 5 years per visit, with multi-entry for up to 10 years.

Requirements: the Canadian sponsor must meet the Minimum Necessary Income (LICO + 30%), provide an invitation letter, and the visiting parent must purchase a minimum $100,000 CAD medical insurance policy valid for at least one year (Canadian-issued or IRCC-approved foreign insurer). New March 2026 flexibility allows host + parent income to be combined to meet the threshold.

What we do: Sponsor income documentation, invitation letter drafting, insurance broker referrals, application submission, and follow-up. Average processing 12–14 weeks from biometrics.

Common questions

Visitor visas, answered honestly.

How long can I stay in Canada on a visitor visa?

The default authorized stay is six months from your entry date, unless the border officer stamps a different date in your passport at arrival. The visitor visa itself can be valid for up to 10 years (multi-entry) but the stay-per-visit is set by the CBSA officer at the port of entry.

Can I work or study on a visitor visa?

Generally no. You can take short-term studies of less than six months without a study permit, and very limited business activities are permitted (meetings, negotiations, training), but you cannot work for a Canadian employer or take long-term study programs.

If you want to work, you need a work permit. If you want to study longer than six months, you need a study permit.

What’s the difference between a visitor visa and an eTA?

Visitor visas (TRVs) are required for nationals of visa-requiring countries, including Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, the Philippines, Nigeria, and many others. eTAs are for visa-exempt nationals flying to Canada, including most European, Caribbean, and Pacific countries, plus a few special categories.

The Canada.ca website has a complete list; we’ll confirm which applies on the consultation call.

My visitor visa was refused. Can I reapply?

Yes, immediately. There’s no cooling-off period. But reapplying without addressing the officer’s specific concerns almost always produces a second refusal on the same grounds.

We recommend ordering the GCMS notes first. Our Refusal Diagnostic ($500 flat) gives you the notes plus a written strategy memo within 14 days.

Can I extend my visitor status while in Canada?

Yes. Submit an application to extend your visitor record at least 30 days before your current authorized stay expires. Processing currently takes 14–28 weeks for in-Canada extension. While your application is pending, you have “implied status” and can remain in Canada lawfully.

What income does the Canadian sponsor need for a Super Visa?

Sponsors must meet the Minimum Necessary Income (MNI), which is the Low-Income Cut-Off (LICO) plus 30%. As of the March 31, 2026 update to the Super Visa program, hosts can now qualify based on income from either of the past two tax years (not just the most recent), and can combine income with the visiting parent or grandparent, significant flexibility for new permanent residents and hosts with variable income. The sponsor proves income with their CRA Notice of Assessment or T4s.

What medical insurance is required for a Super Visa?

Minimum $100,000 CAD in emergency medical coverage from a Canadian or approved foreign insurance company. The policy must be valid for at least one year from entry, cover hospitalization, healthcare, and repatriation. We refer clients to several brokers who specialize in Super Visa policies.
